Description
A series of three wooden bowls by Ed Miller (1928-2017). Originally a medical man from Columbus, Ohio he turned to the 'the art of turning'. With his bowls Ed Miller succeeded in rendering the ordinary sublime, and so to lend dead wood new life.
Ed Miller was a basement artist, one of those self-taught creatives who make it clear that dedication, perseverance, and talent can sometimes lead to impressive artistic results. He used a wide variety of wood types and each bowl is perfectly turned and engraved with his name.
The bowl on the left is made from ambrosia maple, the middle one is made from bocote wood and the bowl on the right is made from Monterey cypress.
