Description
An Elsmore & Forster earthenware puzzle jug transfer printed in black and hand-colored with a figure of Joe Cashmore, a famous clown of his day who specialized in acrobatics and stilt walking. The animals under the spout represent a cock fight. When you wanted to play a trick on someone, you would fill the jug with liquid while holding your finger on the hole in the bottom, then release your finger to let the liquid spill onto the subject.
