Mappin & Webb Edwardian Silver Plate Tea Tray
-
Description
This is a very good example of an Edwardian early 20th century Silver Plated Tea Tray. The elegant simplistic form combined with the refined casting of the border creates a very sophisticated serving piece. The tray is stamped "Mappin & Webb's Princes Plate" and is in overall very good condition considering its many years of use. There is some minor scratching and a couple of very small pits to the surface.
***Mappin & Webb is a highly regarded Silver and Silver Plate manufacturer that was founded in Sheffield in 1775 as a silver shop and which expanded in the mid-18th century to London and then internationally. -
