Georgian Neoclassical sterling silver biggin coffeepot, 1807-1809. Coffeepot: Wide and curved bowl and upward tapering neck. Helmet mouth and hinged domed cover with round stepped finial; stained-wood high-looping handle in volute-scroll silver mount. Gadrooned and girdled. Engraved gryphon armorial. Stand: Gadrooned ring with three loose-mounted rings; tripod paw supports with stretchers supporting central heating element.
Fully marked including maker’s stamp (Matthew Boulton), assay stamp (Birmingham) and date letters 1807 (stand) and 1809 (pot). Very good condition with deep patina.
Overall dimensions: H 11 1/2 x W 7 1/2 x D 6 in. Total gross weight: 33.5 troy ounces. #CC169 -
