This beautiful, filigreed silver item is an Ottoman sweets dish. The piece features a filigree bowl with a hinged and domed lid, supported by four legs wrought from silver to resemble flowers, each with attached flowers centred with hardstone, all set above a circular filigreed dish with shaped edges. The filigree is wrought in a wonderful variety of swirling, scrolling arabesques, demonstrating the very best of Ottoman craftsmanship.
