In 1946, Capron founded his own ceramics workshop in Vallauris, in the south of France. He quickly gained recognition for his innovative designs and became one of the leading figures in the French ceramics scene. Capron's work was characterised by his use of bold colours and graphic patterns, which he applied to a wide range of ceramic forms, including vases, plates, and tiles.
