Traditional sterling silver serving tray. Made by Stieff in Baltimore in 1946. Plain rectangular well with curved corners. Shoulder has repousse floral garland with big blooms in relief on stippled ground; branch-mounted end handles same. Cast rim comprising leafing scrolls, leaves, and flowerheads. Capacious with plenty of heft.
Fully marked including maker’s stamp, date letter, no. 900, and phrase “Hand Chased”. Very good condition.
Overall dimensions: H 1 7/8 x W 26 x D 15 3/4 in. Well: W 17 1/4 x D 11 1/2 in. Heavy weight: 128 troy ounces. #CB968 -
