Description
An Art Nouveau Silver plated Tea and Coffee set in impeccable condition inside and out consisting of a tray, coffee pot, teapot, creamer, and sugar. This was designed by the famed WMF metalworks in Germany, 1910. It speaks of a time so elegant and refined and can bring that sensibility to your home.
We might recommend this as a wedding or milestone gift as it is perfect in every way and destined to be an heirloom, Done in “Jugendstil” it combines an ornamental point of view that has some degree of geometric and streamlined style that hints of the Art Deco Movement from the following decades but this is original and more than 100 years old.
The Wurtenbergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF) produced hundreds of household objects in high-quality silver plate that celebrated the Art Nouveau style. They promoted this fashion by distributing their pieces throughout Eastern and Western Europe as well as South America in the early part of the 20th Century. It is more difficult to find in the United States and we are pleased to be able to offer a nice selection of Art Nouveau by WMF in our showroom today.
