Yavapai basketry tray
coiled out of willow and devil's claw. Coils to the left.
12 3/8" diameter x 3 1/4" high
10 stitches/inch and 5 1/2 coils/inch

Yavapai and Western Apache baskets are often mistaken for each other. We are calling this basket Yavapai because Yavapai baskets generally have symmetrical designs. This basket has descended in a private collection and is being offered for the first time in a very long time. It is in excellent condition. -
