18TH CENTURY AUBUSSON VERDURE TAPESTRY
With a heron in the foreground surrounded by flowers and trees, on the right a coconut tree and other exotic plants with an indigenous bird diving.
In the distance a pagoda rises up from a hill above a body of water with steps leading up to it with small temple like buildings on either side.
Surrounded by a border with geometric designs, possible a late 18th century replacement.
Woven in wool and backed with linen. The tapestry is in good condition with old repairs.
France, mid 18th century.
