LATE 17TH CENTURY TAPESTRY, PROBABLY BEAUVAIS
With a display of various flowers to include poppies, roses, chrysanthemum and more growing from a grassy mound.
With a border depicting arabesques and flowers within framework, inspired by the designs of Jean Bérain.
Pinks, reds, greens and blues on a dark brown ground. The tapestry is woven in wool and silk and reduced in size.
France, late 17th century.
The tapestry is backed with linen and ready to hang.
