Emile Gilioli “Envol” Tapestry
The “Envol” (Launch) Aubusson tapestry, created by the French artist Emile Gilioli, is a one-of-a-kind piece of our collection.
Emile Gilioli’s abstract style was characterized by its simplicity, purity, and non-figurative forms. He was inspired by the work of Constantin Brancusi and other abstract sculptors, and he sought to create sculptures that were devoid of unnecessary ornamentation and that expressed the essential qualities of form.
Gilioli’s sculptures are often composed of simple geometric shapes, such as spheres, cubes, and cylinders. He often used polished metals and smooth stones, which gave his sculptures a sense of elegance and refinement. Gilioli’s sculptures are often balanced and harmonious, and they often convey a sense of tranquility and peace. -
