Superb Antique Shirvan Rug
-
Description
An impressive example of Southeastern Caucasian weaving, attributed to the prolific weaving center of Shirvan. The design is highly unusual for this region and is often associated with so-called "Bordjalu" Kazak rugs of SW Caucasus. The rug displays the best colors we expect from antique Caucasians. Its design is executed with great creativity, full of whimsical details. It is in excellent state of preservation, all original with no repairs.
