An old ancestor hook figure in wood from Mid-Sepik River, Papua New Guinea. The upper body consists of concentric hooks head that is abstract and symbolic. The lower body retain the human figure. The carving of this piece is superbly detailed and the surface displays patina and encrustation. It has an otherworldly quality.
