This 19th century oil on canvas rustic still life depicts a richly composed nature morte that centers on themes of abundance, sustenance, and the hunt. The oil painting is inset within a beautifully carved and painted wood overdoor panel. Likely used as a dessus-de-porte during the period of Napoleon III. We also have a second identical overdoor panel listed depicting an allegorical still life.
