  • Description
    Origin: Harlingen, the Netherlands
    Date: 1784 - 1794
    Workshop: Raamstraat - Zoutsloot
    Painter: Pieter Ruurds

This extraordinary tile panel, or tile painting, consists of 24 tiles, 4x6, depicting a Dutch three-master galleon.
It was painted by Pieter Ruurds, a master ceramics painter from Harlingen. In his whole career, he painted only 30 tile panels with ships, of which this is the only three-master galleon of this remarkable size of 24 tiles.

The panel is in excellent condition considering its age and the number of tiles. No breaks, no restorations, only some minor chips alongside the edges of the tiles.
The panel can easily be reframed in a frame of your liking.
