Description
A striking graphic work by the American painter David Park (1911-1960), depicting a solitary male figure with the bold, gestural intensity that defined his career. As a pioneer of the Bay Area Figurative Movement, Park used thick, confident lines to reconcile the energy of abstraction with the soulful representation of everyday human life.
Circa 1955, this original period work was created during the height of the artist's most influential decade, when he famously turned away from pure abstraction to rediscover the figure.
Graphic work on paper, presented in a clean white mat and housed in a simple black frame. Rooted in the Bay Area Figurative tradition, this piece reflects Park’s signature ability to capture psychological depth and physical presence through an economy of powerful, expressive marks. -
