Untitled, Portrait of a Woman
-
Description
Daniel E. Greene was a prolific and celebrated artist whose sitters include the political elite and titans of industry. In this intimate portrait we only view the sitter from behind as her teal jacket slides down her back and matching floral pattern skirt envelopes her legs. Her upswept hair reveals the delicate nape of her neck, which follows the sinuous curve of her back. The painting is initialed in the upper right corner of the painting as well as signed on verso. The ornate frame is vintage.
