Description
Large wall artwork by Elvio Becheroni from his significant series "Amazonia foresta desincantata" (Amazonia – Disenchanted Forest), addressing the destruction and threat to the rainforest. Medium: Painted panel and burned wood. Elvio Becheroni (*1934 Florence, †2000 São Paulo) was an Italian painter, sculptor, and designer. After early years in Milan, he settled in Brazil in 1978. His works—including sculptures, paintings, and graphic art—were exhibited internationally. Deeply engaged with ecological concerns, Becheroni dedicated much of his career to raising awareness of the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.
