A brilliantly colored and textured palette painted by Ernest Fiene in 1938 for an advertising campaign and later displayed at NYU's Loeb Art Center, followed by a traveling exhibit by the Grumbacher art supply company in 1958-1959. The artists "felt honored to be chosen to illustrate their painting virtuosity on these palettes...What makes these palettes so appealing on so many levels is the great diversity of subject and technique created by serious professional artists."

Creator: Fiene, born Germany 1894- D. 1965, became a US citizen 1927. Studied at the beaux Art Institute 1916-1918. Member of Faculty of Arts School, Westbury, Conn. 1938-1964, Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, and the Broodmoor Art Academy. Painter of American scenes, etchings, murals and frescoes.
