Unidentified French French Palissy Majolica wall platter which features a fish (carp), a snake, a frog, a lizard, shellfish, insects and leaves. Ripple effect ground. Colouration: green, blue, brown, are predominant. Book reference, similar piece illustrated in,'The Collectors Encyclopedia of Majolica' by Mariann Katz-Marks, page 138, figure 172. Possibly by Thomas Sergent, because similar to the marked(allegedly) example found in this book reference.
