    Set of Twelve 18th Century Botanical Prints by Georg Dionysius Ehret. From “Phytanthoza Iconographia,” by Johann Wilhelm Weinmann and Erhret. Depicting thistles and snapdragons, figworts and hollyhocks. In hand-painted canary-yellow frames.

    Ehret (1708-1770) was a disciple of the influential botanist and zoologist Carl Linnaeus and later became an eminent botanist in his own right. Today, his work is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, Kew Gardens, and other important collections.
