Description
A fantastic early example of the work of Harrison Burns, a longtime Rutgers Preparatory school art teacher. His art was based on stills made from television broadcasts and "altered with stencils, collage and paint to give an impression of how one sees in an age of television." (NY Times)
This work, featuring a superimposed logo for Royal typewriters, was executed in the very first year of his life in New York City, and five years prior to his first exhibition. His most recent show at the E. M. Donahue Gallery in SoHo in June 1990, a year before his death. -
