Hyunjoo Hong constructs a body of work that is both contemplative and introspective, where the repetition of gestures and the delicacy of textures reflect an extreme attention to the creative process. His compositions, often marked by silent rhythms and a calm palette, invite the viewer to slow down and immerse themselves in an experience of visual meditation.
Hyun Joo Hong is a contemporary Korean artist living and working in Paris. She is recognized for her unique artistic approach, which blends Korean tradition with contemporary aesthetics.
“I collect the emotions of the moment, create several shapes and write them on the canvas. If I add color to life by telling stories about mine, it becomes too complicated. So I delete it… Sadness is beautiful in blue, joy is warm in color, and when I take on all the colors that life gives me, it becomes a painting. In this way, my paintings are a reflection of this day.” -
