Mid-Century Ceramic Tile Wall Plaque of Don Quixote by Danos, Greece, 1960s
-
Description
Striking mid-century modern ceramic tile plaque by Greek artist Danos, dating to the 1960s. Composed of nine hand-glazed tiles mounted on a wood backing, the abstract composition features stylized figures of Don Quixote and Sancho in a surreal landscape, rendered in rich textured glazes and bold graphic lines. The work blends modernist and primitive influences with a whimsical narrative quality. Vivid colors and dimensional surfaces add to its dynamic presence. Signed "Danos" lower right. A compelling example of Greek studio ceramics, perfect as a wall-mounted artwork or decorative panel.
