Unique abstract collage “Synergy” in patinated bronze, pewter and copper with abstract Kuan motif engraved on sections by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970's (signed “P+K LAVERNE”). The sense of balance and movement is extraordinary. See Kelvin's comments below.

ALCHEMY: THE ART OF PHILIP AND KELVIN LAVERNE written by Evan Lobel with Kelvin LaVerne, published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2024, this collage is shown in the section The Paintings on page 247. The caption reads, “SYNERGY, a unique collage in patinated and engraved bronze, copper, and pewter, was created in the 1970s. Kelvin stated, “This is a work where a confluence of a variety of metals and tones, set at different angles, play against each other to create a sense of movement and composition. A circular design was added to induce a slight textural nuance that contrasts with the plain surfaces of the bronze and pewter tones of the various metals and to complete the synergistic effect I had envisioned.” -
