Description
This circular ceramic plaque features a stylized rooster in relief, animated by incised textures and warm, earthy glazes. A characteristic example Vallauris ceramics. The piece is in good vintage condition and is stamped on the reverse with **Jacqueline Hubin, Vallauris**. Jacqueline Hubin, known as Jacotte Capron, was born in Paris in 1935 and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nantes. During a holiday in southern France, she was invited to undertake an internship with the ceramicist Roger Capron. They married in 1955, and their collaboration lasted for fifty years until Roger Capron’s death in 2006.
