Description
These Monochromatic paintings combine Korean aesthetics with Eastern philosophy with Western Modernist practices. Numerous small textures are repeated in multiple layers, like a Buddhist monk in an attempt to reach Nirvana. These lines are inspired by the Korean alphabet and glyphs. The final painting is achieved with the thick layers of paint in clay-like stroke, distinguishing her work from others. The painting is imbibed with a coating of Swarovski crystal dust that gives it an ethereal and otherworldly feeling.
