Description
The complexity of this piece unfolds the closer you interact with it. Besides the intricacy of its layering, the encrusted crystal overlay creates a brilliant effect, especially as you move about the painting. Hyunae Kang is a famous South Korean Artist, who combines traditional Korean Painting, with Western Abstract Imagery, using natural materials to create innovative mixed-media work that are rich in both color and texture. Hyunae Kang's artwork resides in the permanent collections of the Art Museum of Seoul, the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center in Anaheim, California. And the Brea Museum and Cultural Center and Historical Society in California. In 2021, Kang's work was featured in a retrospective at Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center in Anaheim, California. The exhibition was be the first retrospective for the artist in the United States and showcased works from her early career in South Korea, as well as her most recent projects. The exhibition, which spanned the entire 5000 square feet of the museum space, included works of sculpture, painting, and ceramics.
