Antique 19th Century Hudson River Valley Oil Landscape Painting

Description
A finely painted scene in oil on canvas executed in the manner of the Hudson River Valley school, this vivid landscape depicts a sweeping view of the countryside. The scene is handled expertly with crisp brush strokes bringing to life the complex array of leaves throughout the trees and wealth of grasses lining the foreground. A lone figure sits on the bank of a still river, the calm waters reflecting impressionistic hints of the bank while horses graze in a distant pasture.
The painting is housed in an early and likely original frame with partial remnants of an old oxidized label from "Wilmurt & Co. Picture Frames" of New York. It is a powerful and very finely executed work.

Condition Report:
Frame has a few spots of loss and areas of regilding. Canvas would benefit from being cleaned as varnish has yellowed slightly and old spots of inpainting have become more obvious to the eye; light craquelure throughout with specks of paint loss in a few spots. Under UV examination, inpainting visible in the sky above the pasture, around the extreme edges of the painting and a few minor areas of touch up in the foliage. Presents nicely but would be more attractive if fully conserved. -
