Meiji period (1868 - 1912) painting with flowering trees (possibly cherry) on a mountain ridge. Horai mountain is a mythical mountain located in China in Japanese folklore. Horaisan is a term for a goup of stones or formations in traditional Japanese gardens that are inaccessible. Horaisan are placed in gardens to remind people to appreciate the value of beautiful things we will never be able to obtain. Signature reads: Tsuji Kako. Comes in original signed box.
