Very well executed oil on masonite painting of a reclining female nude by the New York artist, Richard Clive. Signed lower left by the artist. Circa 1965. Condition is very good. The painting is housed in its original ornate gold leaf with white linen liner. Overall framed measurements are 12.25 by 14.25 inches. Provenance: A Sarasota, Florida estate.

Clive was born in New York City in 1912 and died in 1992. He studied at the National Academy of Design in 1930 and received his Bachelor in Fine Arts from New York University in 1935. He also studied with noted artists Dan Greene & Harold Wolcott. He was well known for his female nude paintings.
