Description
"Museum de Arte Popular" photo edition 1/6 of Staircase shot in Mexico City in 2017-2018 by photographer, Christophe von Hohenberg.
Photo printed and signed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Deckle Edge (4 sides).

Photographer and Author Christophe von Hohenberg was born in Oyster Bay, Long Island. He was brought up in Southampton NY, Neubeuern Germany, St. Croix Virgin Islands, and New York City. Inspired by his Step Father, Photographer Wendy Hilty, who presented Christophe with his first camera at 14 years old, a Rolleiflex Twin lens 2.8 which he has been photographing with, ever since. He later was Inspired by Henri Cartier- Bresson, William Klein, Jean Loup Sieff, David Bailey, and by his own experiences living in Europe he created the series “Under Franco”, photographed in Madrid, Spain and exhibited at the New York Museum of Modern Art . Christophe spent four years traveling in his Volkswagen Beetle and attending university in 3 countries, Germany, Spain and France, he graduated from university in Paris in 1975 with a degree in “ European Studies” in Art, Philosophy and History.
He then moved on to Photography professionally. Freelancing with Guy Bourdin in Paris, Frank Moscati, Bob Stone, and Peter Castellano in NYC. In 1979 American Vogue started shooting fashion with Christophe. In the 1980’s he expanded his career shooting for such publications as Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine with Marc Ballet.
Vanity Fair with Elisabeth Bionde, German Vogue with Rados Protic and French Vogue with, Jocelyn Kargere and many other European and American magazines. Christophe also photographed advertising campaigns for Givenchy, Estee Lauder, New York Times, and other companies. -
