Framed Self-Portrait Photography by John Patrick Dugdale
-
Description
Entitled "Portrait of Me at Twilight", this photograph is by American photographer John Patrick Dugdale (1960-). The self-portrait, a toned cyanotype print dated to 1995, features the artist lying on the sofa facing down with his hand touching the floor. The prone half-naked figure was bathed in the soft glow of the twilight. The toned yellowish color gives the print an ethereal and dreamy antique quality, a signature quality of the darkroom craft by the artist who had nearly lost all his eyesight.
Framed in the artist made wood frame, the image measures 10" x 8" and 14.5" x 12.5" with frame.
On verso it retains the Dugdale's studio label represented by Wessel O'Conner Gallery NYC, which bears his signature in ink, title, date, print type and edition notation #3 of 10. A relatively rare print from the artist's repertoire. -
