The photographer places a 7-inch yellow plastic ball in front of iconic church steeples. He is introducing a prop into the photography process. The graphic image is symmetrically balanced and composed of primary colors. It's a staged photo. The bold architectonic shapes of the church and bright yellow of the ball create an image that is a stylistic signature of its author.

Mitchell Funk is a "Color Photographer Pioneer". He was color when color wasn't considered art.
His early color work anticipates developments in color photography by generations.
In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum.
