The Academy of Music in Philadelphia first opened in 1857 and it is the oldest extant opera house in America. The “Grande Olde Lady of Locust Street” has hosted notable performers with an open horseshoe auditorium and two tiered balconies in a Baroque Revival treatment. The 5,000lb crystal chandelier once contained gas jets for light.

Christos is a 1st-gen Greek-American fine artist whose photographs probe themes of socioeconomics, culture, history, and architecture. As strong symbolic sparks in a frenetic 21st-century tangle, his creative intrigue is informed by identity, connection, nostalgia, and isolation.
