Lamu has had many influences since the first Portuguese explorers. Turkish traders and Omani Arabs have left their mark on a unique coastal culture like nowhere else in the world. Today the traditional sailing Dhows are still used to ferry goods and people up and down the coast whilst supplying me as an artist with an unending backdrop to dream of new and forever horizons.
