Festa Minor

Festa Minor is an original lithograph by Joan Miró, produced in 1978 and published by Galeria Maeght in Barcelona. It belongs to a group of late lithographs celebrating Catalan festivals and traditions, a period that represents the culmination of Miró's graphic language. This non signed lithography front and back is extracted from an exhibition book of the same name published by Arte Adrien Maeght.

Joan Miró (1893–1983) was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. A Catalan painter, sculptor, ceramicist, and printmaker, he developed a highly personal visual language that combined abstraction, symbolism, and poetic imagination. Born in Barcelona in 1893, Miró initially studied business before dedicating himself to art. His early paintings were rooted in Catalan landscapes and rural life, but after moving to Paris in the 1920s, he became associated with the Surrealists. Although he never formally joined the movement, his dreamlike imagery and spontaneous forms made him one of its leading figures.
His mature style is instantly recognizable.
