Created in 2012, this urethane pyramid reflects Peter Alexander's continued exploration of light, color, and perception following his return to sculpture in the early twenty-first century. Revisiting the pure geometric forms that became synonymous with his practice, Alexander uses translucent urethane to create an object that is both materially present and visually atmospheric. The pyramid's luminous turquoise hue appears to shift in intensity as ambient light moves across its faceted planes, revealing subtle changes in depth, transparency, and reflected color. Though minimal in form, the sculpture invites sustained observation, transforming a simple geometric volume into an ever-changing perceptual experience.
