Description
Very finely executed ink and watercolor painting depicting the Balinese goddess, Saraswati. Signed lower left “De Mus, keliki-Kawan, Ubud, Bali”. The artist name would be De Mus. Keliki-kawan refers to a well known school of Balinese miniature artists. Ubud is the name of the region in Bali. Condition is excellent. Original hand carved pierced teak Balinese frame. Under glass. Overall framed measurements are 19 by 15 inches. Provenance: Sarasota, Florida collector.
Saraswati (Sanskrit: सरस्वती, IAST: Sarasvatī) is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, art, speech, wisdom, and learning. She is a part of the tridevi of Saraswati, along with Lakshmi and Parvati. -
