Description
Thomas Willing (1731–1820) was the son of Charles and Anne (Shippen) Willing. He served as mayor of Philadelphia from 1763–64. He formed a business partnership with Robert Morris in 1757 to import sugar, rum, molasses, and enslaved Africans. Later in life, from 1791 to 1807, he was the president of the First Bank of the United States.
