Frame size: 39 1/4 x 30”
Full length portrait of George Washington standing before the battlefield of Trenton. Washington is wearing a military uniform and is standing in a contrapposto stance with his right foot forward. His left hand is resting on the hilt of a sword on his belt, and in his right he holds a telescope which he is handing to a young man. The young man is holding the reins of a rearing horse. In the background can be seen a battle, with a ruined cart and cannon just behind the figure of Washington, while on the right of the image is a blasted tree. -
