Chinese, 20th Century
Open: Height 190cm, width 175cm, depth 3cm
Closed: Height 190cm, width 43cm, depth 13cm
This screen, comprised of four sections and formed from Chinese hardwood and nephrite, is a beautiful piece of Chinese design—the dark lustre of the nephrite accenting the warm tones of the hardwood. Each wooden section of the screen, carved with foliate scrolls throughout its surface and set below with a pierced apron, is inset with five nephrite panels. Each panel is wonderfully carved in relief with traditional Chinese landscapes. -
