Description
Adams Edwardian Inlaid Carlton House Desk, Hand Painted, Satinwood,
An absolutely stunning Adams Carlton House desk in the manner of Angelica Kaufman. Classic in form, the superstructure is fitted with four banks of two small drawers flanked by curved cupboard doors. Each cupboard door is decorated with hand painted full bodied opposing ladies. Beneath these cupboards small drawers are fitted, framing a leather-lined book stand which extends on a ratchet support. The desk facade is fitted with a center drawer flanked by two drawers on each side and the whole structure is raised on square tapering legs. This work of art is meant to sit center stage in any home or office as the sides and back are fully hand painted with floral, swag and vine design. A simply stunning hand painted case with ebony pencil design throughout. Too much to mention in this seemingly one of a kind desk.
Desk pulls out to form a 19.5 by 27 inch writing surface. -
