    An elegant modern neoclassical commode / chest of drawers with simple pure lines called "Bubinga" and designed for Nordiska Kompaniet by Axel Einar Hjorth, (Sweden 1888-1959). This midcentury piece is composed of three woods including elm, birch and bubinga.

    Hjorth was the most talented, creative Swedish architect of the 1920-1930 period. He embraced modernism, Neoclassicism and Art Deco and transcended them all with stunningly original works.
