Possibly by Silas Rice (1770–1853)
Wallingford, Connecticut, Circa 1800.
Primary Wood: Cherry
Secondary Wood: Tulip Poplar
Reference: Please see the chest on chest lower case of catalog 187, page 408, in Connecticut Valley Furniture by Thomas P. and Alice K. Kugelman.
They incorrectly state it is the base of a chest on chest. The finish analysis report by Susan Buck indicates that the top is original. -
