Description
Probably Coastal Massachusetts, ca. 1770-1785.
Mahogany, white pine secondary woods.
Over-all in excellent condition, retaining original brass.
This wonderful compact serpentine-front chest with conforming top, highlighted with inlay, has four graduated drawers and is supported by well-defined carved ball and claw feet. The selection of figured mahogany also speaks to the quality of the piece.
Provenance: Leigh Keno, New York, 1999, Private Collection, Westchester, NY to present day.
