Sold Sold
  • Description
This elegant 19th century linen press/secretary is from the Netherlands, c.1860’s and offers plenty of storage. It is a Dutch interpretation of the French Empire style having a boldly carved and stepped cornice over ebonized pilasters, with gilt-brass collars, and a pair of paneled doors which open to reveal a shallow removable shelf above a deep central shelf outfitted with a pair of drawers, and an additional three drawers underneath the bottom shelf. The base is outfitted with a false drawer front which conceals drop-down felt writing surface, a central storage area and a pair of side drawers. Below are two long drawers. The whole is mounted with stylized gilt-brass escutcheons and bail handles. Retains one key.
