Description
This gorgeous bonhuer du jour has decorative elements displaying a variety of techniques. Installed along the top are finials and a decorative border made from brass that run down the side of the cabinet with similar pieces in the legs. There are flora and fauna in inlaid brass, bone and mother of pearl on the door to the cabinet and the hinged desk top. The piece has a cabinet with a working lock and key, two shelves and three drawers. Note the uniquely beautiful wood inlaid banding in three different woods on the inside of the cabinet door. Below the cabinet is a hinged desk top which unfolds to reveal a restored leather writing surface with tooled banding. Within the desk are copper topped ink bottles in small compartments with a pen well between them. Below the desk there is the third drawer with a lock that opens with the same key from the cabinet.
