Description
An exceptional quality and rare pollard oak 19th Century architectural twin pedestal inverted breakfront sideboard.
English Circa 1850.
The quarter cut inverted breakfront top having a thumb moulded edge above a central panelled drawer outlined in bobbin and reel moulding's veneered in the finest pollard oak, flanked by a pair of conforming shorter drawers and stylised floral carved motifs.
Raised on twin pedestals, each having a moulded pollard oak panelled cupboard door with corballed pilasters and central carved rosette, the sides being panelled and finishing on plinth bases.
This sideboard has been fully restored and is in excellent condition with a wonderful colour and stunning pollard oak veneers.
Although not stamped this was certainly made by a very high quality cabinetmaking firm and would have been a commissioned piece.
Extremely rare to find a sideboard of this quality in pollard oak which is a timber sought after by collectors.
